New projects are underway as 2014 has started with a bang! Its so exciting for me to be working in my studio now that it is fully up and running. This latest project has helped me get the equipment I need to truly support my craft and I am feeling so supported in my creativity. I’m excited to announce a collaboration between artist Andrew Hunter http://www.andrewjhunter.com/ and myself on a new collaborative piece that will be debuting at the San Diego Space for Art in October. The Space 4 Art will be hosting several events around the show “Adjacent Possible II,” an exhibition that reflects upon the human experience of wonder, curiosity & experimentation as well as exploring the synergy between science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. Part of the career of an artist in to be involved in a culture of circles. Formal and informal critiques, design charettes, and panel discussions abound in the art world. On the West Coast, where I’ve lived now for over a decade, there is another culture of circles for women. Entering the Final Phase

At my last Blog I was certain that my new studio would be complete by my next post… so I waited… but alas, life sometimes unfolds in ways you don’t expect. In the midst of all the studio action, we got a couple new additions to our community: Florence and Emma, Oberhasli and Nubian goats respectively! So Close!!!

With so much happening this past month here at the Emerald Village and in my personal life, I am amazed at the progress we are making on the new studio.  While my original expectation was to be completed with this build-out by July 1st, I am coming to realize that these kinds of things often take longer than expected.  The walls, windows, doors, electric, and paint will be done by my deadline, but there are other crucial elements that are still in the works.  It feels really important to have well built and lockable storage and an outside area where we can drag out noisy and messy...
